Custom aluminium windows and doors for Florida

The whole state specifies to the Florida Building Code, and South Florida layers the Miami-Dade / NOA listing on top. That drives one decision: impact. We build the glazing to hold a large missile at the design pressure your AHJ sets, then add the doors and sunrooms that make a coastal villa actually liveable.

Standards
Florida Building Code (FBC) + Miami-Dade NOA (South FL)
Ship to
Port of Miami / Savannah
Lead time
40–55 days on impact-rated schedules

The challenge here

Hurricane-force wind and debris impact, salt-laden air on the coast, and extreme heat and sun load on the interior.

How we spec it

  • Impact-rated glazing, laminated core, DP matched to the county (HVHZ 130–150)
  • Large-missile tested per ASTM E1996; pressure-cycled per ASTM E330
  • Thermal-break frames with salt-fog hardware and marine powder-coat schedule
  • Lift-slide and bi-fold walls sized for terrace and resort openings

Certification path

Configured units are listed through PGT or an equivalent NAHB-recognized lab. Each shipment carries the test report for the configured model, the NOA listing path, and NFRC registration where the energy code requires it.

Specifying for Florida

Do you handle the Miami-Dade NOA listing?

We coordinate the test unit and documentation through PGT or an equivalent NAHB-recognized lab, so the configured model carries the Miami-Dade / FBC listing path your inspector and insurer ask for.

What design pressure should I specify?

Match the wind-speed map for your county: 130 mph across much of South Florida and 150 mph in designated high-velocity hurricane zones. We build the glass and frame to that DP.

Are the frames rated for salt air on the coast?

Yes. Salt-fog hardware and a marine powder-coat schedule are standard on Florida coastal lines, not an add-on.
