Coastal & salt fog

Coastal residence with full-height glazing facing the water

Salt air attacks the hardware before it attacks the glass. Every unit destined for an exposed elevation carries 316 stainless hardware and the marine powder-coat schedule as standard, with the gasket line replaced as a service part on a published cycle. The SC-40 MARINE screen range closes the loop on insect protection without a second material system.

Hardware

316 stainless, salt-fog rated

Coating

Salt-fog hardware and powder-coat schedule

Screens

Stainless mesh, SC-40 MARINE

Warranty

10–15 years by system

How it is built

316 stainless throughout

Hinges, locks and screen frames in 316 SS — the grade that survives salt fog where 304 starts to pit.

Marine powder-coat schedule

Pre-treatment and curing specified for exposed elevations; the coating cycle is part of the documentation, not a colour chart.

Serviceable gasket line

Continuous EPDM with a published replacement cycle — the joint that keeps the salt out of the frame cavity.

Full-height black folding glass doors open to an exposed terrace
Full-height glazing on the exposed elevation — the marine coating and 316 hardware are the default, not an option.

Material & process

Hardware

Hinges, locks and screen frames in 316 stainless steel — the grade that holds in salt fog where 304 starts to pit — with the marine powder-coat schedule from the same pre-treatment line.

Sealing

A continuous two-line EPDM gasket, replaced as a service part on the published cycle, is what keeps the salt out of the frame cavity between the coating cycles.

Where it applies

Coastal belts of the four markets we serve — the Florida and Gulf coasts, the Australian east coast, South-East Asian coastlines and the East African coast. The schedule is applied per elevation, not per project.

What it buys you

A lower lifetime cost of ownership: the coating and hardware schedule is specified for the exposure, so the service interval is a date, not a guess.

The same hardware family runs the standard and the marine schedule — spares, training and the warranty all stay in one place.

The salt-fog hours are on the coating data sheet, so the specification is auditable by the client, not just by us.

Questions we get on this specification

Which markets does the coastal schedule serve?+

The Florida and Gulf coasts, the Australian east coast, and the coastal belts of South-East Asia and East Africa — anywhere the salt-fog data justifies the marine schedule.

Do the marine hardware options change the price much?+

The 316 SS and marine coating are priced into the quotation per elevation; sheltered elevations stay on the standard schedule so you are not paying marine rates for a north-facing wall.
