Custom aluminium windows and doors for New South Wales

New South Wales is the volume market. Sydney and the coast want the big openings and the timber-inside look; the bushfire-adjacent regions need the AS 3959 BAL rating layered on top. We do both: coastal wind-rated walls, and BAL-rated windows for the interface.

The challenge here

Coastal and inland wind (AS 1170.2), bushfire (AS 3959 BAL) at the interface, acoustic on road frontages, and high project volume.

How we spec it

  • Wind-rated to the AS 1170.2 zone (higher on the coast)
  • BAL-rated glazing and frames for bushfire-adjacent sites (AS 3959)
  • Acoustic configurations for Sydney road frontages
  • Wood-aluminium and lift-slide for the coastal villa specification

Certification path

Wind-zone tested to AS 1170.2 per project; bushfire-adjacent sites carry AS 3959 BAL-rated units at the site BAL level. Coordinated with NATA-accredited laboratories, with the report and certificate in the shipping document pack.

Specifying for New South Wales

Do you make bushfire-rated (BAL) windows?

Yes. For sites in the bushfire-adjacent interface we configure AS 3959 BAL-rated units to the site BAL level, with the matching frame, mesh and glazing schedule.

What differs between Sydney coastal and inland?

Coastal sites take a higher AS 1170.2 wind zone plus salt-fog hardware; inland and road-fronted sites lean on the wind rating plus acoustic glazing.

Can the inside be timber and the outside aluminium?

That is the WA-70 wood-aluminium build: timber finish inside, corrosion-proof aluminium outside, the standard for the coastal villa spec.
